Alert Acknowledgment

Evening All

Question around Alert Acknowledgement. Is there a way that when "Acknowledging" an alert it can send an email. Currently what I see is when acknowledging an alert it gives a txt box, I want it to act in the same way as any other Advanced alert so when an alert happens it sends an email.

I had an idea to complete this to alert on an "Audit Event". IE when an action such as acknowledging alert happens it triggers the email. But that is a round about way and not entirely sure it will work. Simply I just need to "send an email" when alert is acknowledged. I don't want the alert to clear or disappear from the normal area until the alert has cleared.

Hope that makes sense.

You would need to create an Alert based on the Audit Event generated by acknowledging the alert.

Thanks, im attempting to do this but cant get it see fire. here is so far below-

Next is the trigger actions, i have one to fire the email where it needs to go. the next is write to the network performance event log

It doesnt seem to be picking up the acknowlegment in the netperf event log or triggering the email. Any ideass??

So am at the stage where I can acknowledge the alerts from the "alerts" tab or directly when you drill into the alert its self to acknowledge. however it doesn't seem to be triggering, when clicking acknowledge it shows as the alert being acknowledged and but doesn't trigger the email or even write it to the netperfm log. Any ideas??

What type of object is the initial alert built on? Is it a node, component, application, etc.? The issue here is that the Audit Event isn't being created when the alert is acknowledged. If we can determine why, then the second alert should work as expected. Also, what version of SAM are you currently running?

Its based on an "audit event", the version is the newest version released. Don't have the version to hand but I guessed it was because the audit event isn't being created but I cant figure out why?

So i have this working now as above so that is fine

I am having issues around the variables displaying in the outputted email.

I need to have details such as node name or customer name etc however these viarables are not appearing under an "audit event" based alert. is this possible?
