Windows monitor - broken by ms patch?

We have a 10.0 build 1371 running on windows 2003. We had a the windows monitor sent up for most of our servers working quite happily. Our outsourcer patched our servers and now on the majority of them we have a cannot connect error. Oddly enough, hit the verify button and that works fine.

The windows credential works on some servers... and is only has "May be used with NTLM Authentication Schemes (Windows NT Lan Manager)" checked, but the "standard" credential shows the same behaviour any way. I can connect to these servers using wmiexplorer. So any thoughts.

I'm now experiencing the same problem. The Microsoft Windows monitors have been chugging happily along for a couple of months. As of yesterday, they all stopped working. By all, I mean 100+ of them.

I've verified that the firewall is not interfering. Running same build but on a Windows 2008 server. We haven't patched them in the last few days so I can't think of anything that has changed.
