Hi all,
We are about to use a dedicated sql 2005 database for our MOM installation and our Orion installation.
We will use separate instances and vm ware on this server.
I can not find any documentation for the SQL installation for solarwinds.
The question I have is when MOM is installed you have to do the following things on the SQL installation that
are possibly different to what Orion Requires:
1. Select SQL Server Database Services, Reporting Services and Workstation components, Books Online and development tools. Leave all other components unchecked followed by clicking next.
2. Select the Use the built-in System account ‘Local system’ followed by clicking next.
3. Select SQL collations (used for compatibility with previous versions of SQL Server). Make sure that ‘Dictionary order, case-insensitive, for use with 1252 Character Set’ is selected followed by clicking next.
I do not know anything about SQL and as I can find no documentation on the type of SQL installation that
Orion requires I can not say if Orion will still work under this type of SQL installation.
If anyone has any knowledge on SQL with Orion that would help me very much
Thanks
Sam
