Baselining takes forever?
jrobijns
Hi all,
When I reboot out Orion 6.4 server, it seems to take forever until the node status for all monitored nodes seems correct. For the first couple of hours we see several nodes reported as 'down' while they in fact aren't. A reboot means the information is unreliable for about half a day. I realise we have a *lot* of monitored nodes (about 600), but isn't this extremely long?
Thanks,
Jan

You may need to increase your polling rate by going into the registry.
We monitor about the same number of nodes, and it takes about 15 minutes to stabilize after a restart. I have set the Max polls/second
to 24 on my server:

There is a lot of good info in the help file troubleshooting guide
as well:

Hi,
I read through the documentation and found that their formula example is incorrect. The example shows the formula as 6000*2/60*2. The 60*2 should actually be 60*5, using the numbers they state in the example (6000 interfaces, being polled every 5 minutes).
Is there anyone from SolarWinds here who can correct this on the site?
