Hi Team,
I need steps so that we can play a sound if I get down alert.
We monitor the alerts using web console on big screens.
We get emails too however we need the console to play the sound on down alerts.
Tejas.
For logging to Orion with Desktop notification tool please use same address which you used in browser.
Examples:
Http://Orionserver.mydomain.com (Server is running on default 80 port)
Http://Orionserver.mydomain.com:8787 (Server is running on 8787 port)
192.168.1.10 (server is running under 80 port)
192.168.1.10:8787 (server is running under 8787 port)
httpS://orionserver.mydomain.com (Server is running under HTTPS with default 443 port)
httpS://orionserver.mydomain.com:444 (Server is running under HTTPS under 444 port)
In HTTPS you have to have trusted certificate in client machine, that means in browser you have to have green flag when you accessing the Orion Server.
If you're running NPM 11.5, you can use the Desktop Notification Tool:
http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/sam/content/samagdesktopnottop.htm
If you're using older versions, you can follow this workaround:
SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Enabling audible alerts (Play a Sound action) on Windows Server 2008
Thank you for the link will try this tomorrow once at work.
Cheers!!!!
