Where are the read latencies, read per sec stored in appinsight for SQL?

We have a nice tool within Solarwinds to genereate reports with no indication of where the data is stored.

So we end up using a per database view within appinsight for SQL to export the data one counter at a time, one database at a time, one instance at a time to attempt to have an overall view. This makes no sense...

I'd like ot be able to extract everything at once but I can't correlate what I have on screen with what is contained in the database... There is no relationship defined at the database level which makes it impossible to output the database diagram. The entity model seems to be entirely textual with no diagram or research capabilities. And the descriptions are not that helpfull when stating that: components contains components, evidences contains evidences and statistics contains statistics...

I found the concept of 'Average Read Latency' and 'Average Disk sec/Read' per database in the apm_component but I cannot figure ou where the historical values are stored.

If anybody knows where the those information are stored, it would be appreciated. Or a simple way to figuring out where information is stored when a statistic is displayed on screen...

Rather than mucking around in the DB if you are having a hard time sorting it out you can just build a report via the web interface that exports these stats to excel. Build a report table, when it asks you for datasource just set it to find the counters you are interested in by name

Then build the report with the columns you are interested in, i would suggest application name, component name, average stat, peak stat

This is the example report data from my lab. You can organize it how you want and then schedule it to export to excel if you need to archive or manipulate the data further.

Taking this info a bit further you can pretty easily spin up a dashboard showing you any databases where these values are above your threshold in real time.

Thanks Marc,

This is definitly the answer I was looking for, I will abuse it as much as I can. Before I mark it as answered, is there a way to see the TSQL which is generated in the background.

I would definitly like to know if I can edit it furthermore. I find scripting more intuitive than reporting interfaces...

I'll second this - the web report works fine for an output, but not to write a SWQL query or a Report Writer report to be displayed on a view somewhere.

The data is in the database, it shouldn't be a big deal to reference it directly.

It all ends up on the same view as the rest of the component statistics, Orion.APM.ChartEvidence2 if you are using swql or [dbo].[APM_ChartEvidence2] in sql, join it to the components table to filter on names and such.
