RAID battery status for HP DL360/380 G6 Servers in SAM

Good afternoon,

We are running SAM 5.2, One of the batteries in the RAID controller died earlier this week, HP SIM told us about it, But SolarWinds thinks the server is still OK. (it is, But the cache battery is toast).

Is there any way I can add this to SAM? Or give you the SNMP walks to get it added in future versions?

Otherwise, Very very happy with SAM 5.2, Brilliant upgrade! Well done!

It's likely the reason is an older Insight Agent being installed, or in some cases the agent was never completely registered with the operating system. I recommend uninstalling the HP SIM agent and installing the latest version from HPs website. This should resolve the issue.

Do you have the hardware monitoring on the system that shows the health of the raid controller and the battery? If not you will need to go to the node, click on the "List Resources" button and select the hardware monitoring option.

Funny thing, we had the same failure this week on an HP and with the hardware monitoring in Orion notified our NOC immediately.

is correct. Have you enabled the Hardware Health monitoring for this node by clicking "List Resources" and selecting it?

Hardware monitoring is turned on for this host, I have 35 other servers currently reporting OK, However this one appears to be showing as NA for the hardware type, Though it does show "up" and it does show the status of the various elements of the box.

Wonder if that could be what is causing it? The rest show the HP logo and the model of the server.

Byrona, How does it show? Is it under the hardware status for the drives?
