How do I get this alert to work with this APM Template to monitor a folder size?

I'm trying to monitor a folder for changes in size and I'm using this APM Template: Folder Size Monitor

I've set the credentials and the path and it picks up the folder size correctly and this is seen in Statistical Data. Right now the Statistical Data is over 6GB at 6419597049.00

BUT - How do I make it alert if this single Statistical Data changes?

Typically what users do is to set the warning and critical thresholds in the monitor based on when you want to be notified. So in your case for example, you could set the critical threshold to 6419597050 and the warning threshold to a lower value where you want to be warned. The monitor status will go critical when it reaches the value 6419597050.

actually you would need two component monitors to see a change, one to alert when the value goes up and one for when the value goes down or am I incorrect?

I dont think you can do it with setting a different value for warning as the choice on alerting on <,>,<=,>= is set for both warning and critical.

I was hoping for something that would occur 'auto-magicly' - that is, operate off a checksum and alert as the checksum changes over time.

It seems I'll have to interact with it as the folder changes over time. If it goes over 7GB then I'll have to adjust to that or if it goes under 5GB adjust to that too. Is that correct?

One more thing.

What I'm trying to do is alert whenever this folder changes is size from what it currently is.

If files get moved or new files come in then I wanted to alert on that.
