Running a Linux script as a trigger action to an alert

So I need to trigger a Linux script to run as part of a trigger action.. This thread (Alert Action - Run Linux Script With Putty ) has a wealth of information but it also states that there are 3 services (SolarWinds Alerting Engine, SolarWinds Alerting Service V2, and SolarWinds Orion Module Engine) need to be changed so that they run as a service account and not Local System... has anyone done this successfully and are there any implications to doing this? Or is there a different way to execute this... Thanks.

The easiest way to do this is without Putty, using NCM (Network Configuration Manager) as this Alert Action is built-in. The post you referenced above however is somewhat outdated and no longer applicable since the introduction of SAM 6.2, which includes a new web based alert manager that allows for impersonation on alert actions.
