Lets use my AIX Template that is on the Content Exchange for my example. This happens on other templates, but this one is the most used in my environment now.
What I do is I will copy the base Template to create separate Templates for my Production/Test/Dev monitors that I am placing the template on. I do this on the root template level so the node drop down at the top view shows each environment as opposed to just opening the master template and then sorting through the nodes then the templates you have re-named for sorting purposes once you assigned the template to a node.
When I created my separate AIX templates all the Custom Views showed they were set to the AIX Details View. Perfect right?? Well once I assigned the different environments to nodes and got them up the problem started. Everything looked good under manage applications and the views were set. Even in the Manage Applications view it was right.
So I clicked on one of my Test boxes which is one of the first templates I copied from the Production Master template. When I finally got to the AIX Details View it was acutally AIX Details View (1). It just created this from no where. I closed out the node details and went into manage view. Sure enough I had a new Custom view called AIX Details View (1). I deleted it and went back to manage nodes to check the Test and Dev templates. They were back to showing AIX Details View, but once again when I tried to load one of the Application pages on the Test and Dev templates the same thing happened.
I'm hoping this is a bug that can be fixed since the logic doesn't make sense to create multiple views of the same page. I have about 10 servers on the Production template and non of them duplicate the view when diving in to any of the nodes. Again this isn't just with this template it happens on multiple templates that have their own custom views.
