Request for explanation on Average Response Time window on Node Details screen

I am building a report to go to upper management where I will be using a screenshot of this window.

Can someone from Solarwinds please provide an explanation of the mechanics of this window - is it just a ping from the Orion server to the node in question or is it something else ?

As a part of the report, I have to explain the methodology of how the graphs were created.

Ah. I see now. See this paper on report writer and the reference to "Hey chart, get in my report".

That chart is built from ping replies to the NPM server.

Thanks for the post but this doesnt answer my question. The report I am creating is external to NPM because of multiple sources the data is coming from. What I am asking for is what is NPM doing to build the chart I am putting in the report.

I have attached a jpg to this message with the window I need an explanation for as what NPM is doing to create the data displayed in the window - is it doing a ping, it is doing traceroute to measure latency, etc.
