URGENT!! Database manager cannot maintain connection to the remote database!!

I have to remove and re-add the database server every time I open the Database Manager tool.

What is going on and how can I fix it?

Thank you for your help. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

No and I didn't mean to imply that, sorry. Your post was entitled Urgent so I was walking you through your options today. We have a defect filed in the system to address this bug in a future release.

Thanks marie. As of this moment, I have been on hold with support for 25 minutes.

I have heard that other users are experiencing this. We are running 10.1.1. Is the issue addressed in version 10.1.2?

This is not a new defect, has been around for awhile. If you remove and re-add it, it should re-add just fine.

Why not use MSFT SQL Management Studio, it is free and offers alot more features than our database manager tool.

Oh i know that you can re-add the tool. One has to do it every time one launches DB Manager.

And, yes one can use the SQL management Studio. But, does that mean SW has decided to leave a broken tool in place?
