Advanced alert - Monitor status - has changed

I'm monitoring windows services. I have created an Advanced alert to alert when Monitor Status "has changed"...but it never alerts me when a service goes up or down...it never triggers.

If I use Monitor status "down" it alerts on any of my monitors that are down....but I really only want it is if the status changes becuase I have a number of monitors currently down due to work on the servers, etc.

Any ideas why the alert never triggers with the "has changed" configuration?

Unfortuantely, the "has changed" operator won't work in that case. At this time, "has changed" is limited to "Last Boot", "IOS Version", and "IOS Image Family".

What's your use case, and to which specific fields would you want to apply this operator?

I would want to use the "has changed" function for interface status. For instance, Interface status has changed to down. This would trigger an alert e-mail.

I currently do this (you can read through the exact steps in another post) using basic alert (it has the "has changed" for interface status) combined with a custom variable so I can do other criteria in an advanced alert.

Is there any way to do this in Version 10.1 since there is full SQL advanced alert? Or maybe it is an undocumented fix in version 10.1?

I would use it to alert if a UnDP poller I use to monitor HA status on my firewalls and load balancers changes.
