Monitoring Linux

I am using Orion 8.5.1 with netflow and Application Monitor.

I added our Linux servers to orion, Linux is running Net SNMP It sees them and all the applications running on them. The information I am getting back is not right. The memory shown in Application Monitor is way off. the CPU reports are also comming up way off, Orion is showing 90% cpu when the oracle server is actually idle or barely being used. I am also seeing that the node is rebooting at 4:12 am every morning.. I am certain the server is not actually booting, I can look at the server and see the last boot was 100 days ago. Is anyone else monitoring Linux servers, are they reporting correctly without any custom mib pollers?

I did a MIB walk and do have the list of MIBS. Is there a simple way to tell which MIB to use? Am I looking in the right direction?

Can anyone at Solarwinds please respond to this? I am having the same issue.

I found that using the latest ver of Net-SNMP solves alot of these issues. I have not been able to test the application issue since we have only tested the "node" info, cpu memory ect and it seems to be working.

I'm not sure why it's not working for you. It's not a known issue, and we have many customers successfully running APM using net-snmp. If you're not using the latest version of net-snmp, that would definitely be a good move.

If that's not the issue, I'd have to recommend that you open a ticket so that we can look at your particular problem.
