BGP State Change alarming

I'm running NPM 10.0.0, so far monitoring 30 Cisco devices with an aggregate of 75 BGP peer sessions.

I need NPM to generate an alarm when BGP state drops from "Established" for any reason. How, specifically, can I do this?

I should have been more specific. I want to generate an e-mail alarm to our NOC when any one of these BGP peer sessions drops from its Established state.

I do this via the syslog alerting for BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.

In the case of BGP:

create a new rule, name it
Under the Message tab, set the "message type pattern" to "BGP-5-ADJCHANGE" (for cisco)
Under alert action, have it send an email to the right group with the info.

I am using a syslog rule looking for *Down BGP Notification sent*, * sent to neighbor*(hold time expired)* in the Message
