Oracle processes not able to be monitored on Linux boxes

Hi - as the title implies, we have several Linux boxes that are working well in Solarwinds via SNMP. I recently installed the new APM and was able to get most of our servers responding, apart from our Oracle DB's. I have made a simple template which justs monitors port 1521 and also monitors the oracle process. The port is fine, just never sees the oracle process. It can see other processes running on the box, just not that particular one!

I have tried this on our other Oracle servers and get the same result. The weird thing is, the process is able to be monitored in the standard process monitoring through the System Manager.

A bug perhaps?

1. What is the error reported by the down SNMP Process Monitor (hover over the orange info button on the Application Details view)?

2. Can you monitor other process's on this box or do none of the SNMP process monitors work? Do SNMP Process Monitors work on any of your Linux boxes

3. I'm guessing you are using the net-snmp agent on the linux boxes? What version?

1. Unexpected error occured. The agent did not respond within the time specified. Timeout=10000

2. Yes we can monitor all sorts of processes on the boxes - I have tried bash, su, perl, init.cssd etc - all of them report back as UP. Only the oracle process (there are hundreds of instances by the way) does not report anything and comes back with a timeout.

Hi - how do we find out what version of Net-SNMP is isntalled? What format would you exepct it to look like (i.e. 2.3.4 etc), as we may be able to tell from what snmp is pulling in already

This looks like a bug. APM isn't handling the fact that Oracle creates hundreds of processes with the same name. I'll enter a bug and we'll see about getting this fixed in a feature release.
