Hi forums,
I added the ESX Host template provided with APM v4 lately, and yesterday I noticed one of our sites lines being ~90 percent utilized, and found (via Netflow) that the sinner is Orion and the monitored nodes was the ESX hosts placed on the site in question.
We have 76 ESX hostes monitored, all via the ESX API used by Orion NPM. They doesn't seem to be the problem as deleting the hosts assigned from the APM ESX Hosts Template, causes a significant drop in network I/O on the Orion NPM/APM server.
This graph is from the Orion server NIC: the

On the site where I found the problem at first hand, the change in utilization is on the exact same time as on the Orion server. Also the load on the NIC on the router on the site affected, is showing the effect of unassigning the ESX Hosts on that site from the template. It looks like polling 9 hosts with the APM template is using ~3-5 mbits of bandwidth.

Can anyone confirm this or am I doing something completely wrong? The template is standard, standard polling interval an such.
Thanks in advance.
