Mass SNMP update

Hello i am wanting to change the snmp R/O keystrings and R/W keystrings on all my Cisco Routers and Switches on my network. i realize that i can use NCM to make this mass change to remove the old and add the new.

however is there any way to update in NPM all the routers to the new keystrings and same for the switches?

Otherwise it seems that NPM will alert them as being down until i can go to each device and change the keystrings.

1. ping will still work to them, so SW will not flag them as down (unless you have switched to SNMP polling for up)

2. You can use the manage nodes screen, select multiple nodes, and edit them at once

Manage Nodes

-> group by Community

-> pick the community you are changing

-> Edit Properties

-> checkbox next to 'Polling method'

-> update the two community strings

-> submit

jgutter You should be able to select multiple devices and update the strings all at once. You will want to go to "Manage Nodes" then you could sort by vendor and choose Cisco or do a word search that will bring up all of your ASAs. From there you can place a check mark on all the ones you want to edit. If you click the "Edit Properties" button you will be able to change the polling method and SNMP strings of all the selected devices. Let me know if that works for you or not.

You can sort by whatever you would like...whatever makes sense for what you're trying to do (by model number, for example). This would give the option of granularity if desired. Alternatively, you can get all at once. Note that you can invent a property / use groups to make your efforts easier (generic example: customer_facing/ non_customer_facing, critical / non_critical...these are custom properties I just made up for argument's sake).
