How to Configure an alert for a specific Interface on a specific node

Hello All,

I am attempting to create an alert for a specific interface on a specific node and I am having trouble.

It is for monitoring the pri interface on a cisco call manager. I have already configured the icmp alert for when the whole device goes down but I need another alert to let me know if the pri interface goes down not the device.

Any ideas?

The cisco PRI MIB is a bit buggy. Can you see that PRI interface in the NPM? If so, you can just build an alert as ChrystalIT says. If it does not, you will have to build a UnDP poller first then alert off of that poller. If you do create the poller, make sure to ckick on Advanced and indicate that it is an interface poller. Otherwise it defaults to a node poller.

When you are configuring your alert, there should be a drop-down menu on the top. It is set to node by default, but you should be able to drop it down to interface. Then different options will show up for you, like interface id, and you can configure your alert from there. Hope this helped.
