Need help with Report creation

I've created may reports, mostly with out burning up too many brain cells. However, I'm sort of stuck trying to create a report focused on Interface Transmitted Traffic. I know there is a canned report and it works great. But, what I need is a report for only a certain nodes. I have been unable to figure out how to target the report to only give me results for say server 1, server 5, server 11.... Whenever I try to filter the report for only a certain set servers I get "No Data Available". Does anyone have a suggestion on how to pull Interface Transmitted Traffic for a certain subset of servers. If so I would be greatly in your debt for your assistance.

Hi,

Are you looking to achieve the report using custom SQL? If so, you will have to try to join 2 tables called Nodes and Interface keeping Nodeid as the primary key.

You can actually get Interface Transmit Traffic using the column (Outbps) from table (Interface).

For example, select n.caption,i.InterfaceName,i.Outbps from nodes n join interface i where n.nodeid in (nodeid1,nodeid2,nodeid3) or

select n.caption,i.InterfaceName,i.Outbps from nodes n join interface i where n.caption in ('servername1','servername2','servername3'))

I tag my desired nodes with a few custom properties.

"InterfaceSLA" and "NodeSLA"

Then filter the data set with this:

ON Interfaces.InterfaceID = TrafficStat.InterfaceID

WHERE

(Nodes.NodeSLA = 'Yes')

AND

(Interfaces.InterfaceSLA = 'Yes')

ORDER BY NodeName, Interface_Caption

Use a custom property for ease of identifying what servers you want to report on and then make a condition of the data source to be that "Field name of custom property" = "value entered for those servers of interest"...
