Device Type Custom Properties

I'm running a demo of Orion and I'm trying to get Orion to figure out device types. Isn't there a way to get it to do this on its own? As it is, I've created a custom property called device_type, but that means I have to remember to go set the device type every single time I add a device. What a PITA.

Orion is already getting the necessary information via SNMP for it to make this determination on its own, at least for the most common devices. Is this perhaps a feature that is coming in a future release? If not, is there a way to make this a bit easier to manage?
