is there any limitation as to the number of services monitored per template?
In theory, I think this is limited by the bigint ID column that defines a component (9,223,372,036,854,775,807) in the db, but you will quickly see that too many monitors on the same view are unmanageable. The second problem could be your license limits and the last one you will start to see bottlenecks if you ask your server to perform too much tasks in parallel.
