EOC data encryption

Hi,

This has probably been answered before, but my search skills seem to be failing me at the moment.

What I want to know is when does the encryption of the traffic start. If I choose to not enable SSL, but instead have the connection limited to specific IP ranges (i.e. the local NPM site and the site on which the EOC is installed) does the traffic still get encrypted between the two?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

If you don't enable SSL on the web site, then the traffic between your web browser and the EOC server will not be encrypted. The same for any web site you configure. If you enable SSL on your website then you usually see the padlock symbol either in the address bar or the bottom of your browser.

The communication between EOC and any Orion is always encrypted regardless of your configuration.

The second part is what i was going on about, in my not very clear way.

Basically I just wanted to make sure that the traffic that travels on port 17777 is encrypted. And you answered that so all is groovy!
