Monitoring windows events

I have read that I can send my windows events to solarwinds syslog server and then have solarwinds NPM read from that syslog server and alert.

I have both NPM 9.5 and APM 2.5. Is there a different way that I can monitor and alert on windows events by using APM?

Any help would be appreciated.
