Windows 2012 Server NIC has changed to unknown state

Hi All,

Just one of our servers has changed it's NIC state to unknown and no matter what I've tried I cannot get it back. When I try to list resources on the system I get a message that the system is currently down, unreachable, or provided credentials are not valid, however I use the same credentials for all my servers and at the moment I'm getting CPU, Memory, HDD and volume details and SAM is also getting all its requested details.

How do I get this NIC back? I'm loathed to delete it with the error I'm getting above as I may not get it back.

I enabled the second NIC port, shutdown the server, swapped the cable to the second port, brought it back up and was able to monitor the new port. I then shut it down moved the cable back to the original port, brought it back up and the old port was monitoring again, I disabled the second NIC port and all is working fine.

I might be asking the obvious but have you tried restarting the SNMP service on that server? This has fixed the list resources problem for me in the past.

Thanks but yes I've checked the credentials, restarted SNMP and restarted the server numerous times.

As stated before, I'm also getting other information from the server just not the NIC, which is the only one cabled and was originally being monitored
