I recently had an issue with a Cisco switch where it thought that the same mac was connected on 2 different ports. The symptom was the was fluctuating between the two ports and created a hard to spot intermittent issue. I am trying to figure out a way to be alerted if this type of trouble happens. I can set up alerts when an interface goes up and down, but 99% of that is legitimate.
