RPC Monitor

Hi,

I am wondering if there is an rpc monitor to detect when we cannot connect to a server via rpc.  The problem appeared to be that there was something wrong with a given server's rpc service and it was preventing us from connecting via other applications.  The fix is to reboot the server but I was wondering if Solarwinds had a buiiltin rpc monitor so we could be a little more proactive about identifying this problem in monitoring.  The rpc service was runniing and I didn't see an related events in the logs.

I created a template using the TCP port monitor to check port 135, and then created alerts on that to send an alert if the node is up but RPC is down. So if the server responds to pings but not to RPC I get an alert. We mainly get alerts for servers when they hang on reboot, or general RPC failures, but do get a few false positives from very slowly rebooting servers (we have a "condition active for 10 minutes" setting on the alert).
