Just want to kick off a couple of questions early, as vSphere 4.1 was released to the wild on the July 13th (yesterday) boasting several new features and enhancements, including Active Directory integration with ESX and ESXi hosts, USB device access from the host to the VM that is not lost in vmotion events, NFS performance enhancements, more lean and secure ESX and ESXi hosts, and more.
The enhancements and push to ESXi hosts (http://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere/esxi-and-esx/why-esxi.html) does concern me and is my main reason for this post. I'm just hoping that non of the core components NPM uses to monitor VMware were removed from the hosts, and want to find out before I upgrade.
Has anyone taken the early plunge into vSphere 4.1 yet?
Is Orion NPM support to monitor VM's and ESX hosts?
