I set up my application monitor. I have a file server set up with the "Windows Server 2003-2008 Services and Counters". The one counter that seems to always be hitting a threshold is the Pages/Sec counter. Now i don't see any performance impact when it reaches SAM's default critical level, and its only during peak hours so this metric is understandable. But if it ever does get out of control i would really like to know.
So my question is how should i size this variable appropriately, so that i dont keep getting false positives during normal operations. I hope there is a more intelligent way to do this besides increasing it slowly.
Thanks.
