A while ago when I ran a discovery, Orion discovered a system with an IP address of (eg.) 10.1.1.15.
Then thru some unknown process, the IP address of said system changed to (eg.) 10.1.36.112
Now, DNS has been updated with the new IP address so when I ping the system by hostname, I get a response from the 10.1.36.112 number BUT Orion has still associated the system name with the old 10.1.1.15 number. Unfortunately, when I apply an alert to the system name, the IP address responding is another system that has taken the 10.1.1.15 number and the server I want to test is never contacted.
Is there any way for Orion to actually figure out what is on the end of an IP address and update its own database accordingly?
I apologize if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it.
Thanks for your assistance.
