How to create alarm rules with three type of thresholds(critical, major and minor) for cpu, memory and disk
Hi,
Take a look in your Alert Manager <Your Solarwinds Server>Orion/Alerts/Default.aspx and locate the default alerts for CPU, Memory and Disk.
You can find this by viewing your alerts, then clicking on Manage Alerts (top left):
Once you have found the default alerts (use the search feature to aid this), copy (Duplicate and Edit) these to create new alerts, rename them and have an good explore into the alert trigger definitions.
Once you understand how these work it should be straight forward to create all the alerts you require.
Good luck!
Whether alarm rules can be created and applied for different groups ?
You can edit your trigger conditions as well as define your scopes. This allows you to get about as granular as you need. I often will use custom properties as a good way to filter and/or exclude certain devices from alerts. But really there are many many options, you will just need to play around and see what works for you.

It works easier to use Custom Properties in Alerts from my experience. Unless there have been recent changes I am unaware of, it is recommended to use Custom properties to group the alerts. You will find it is much easier to work with Custom properties in Alerts than to work with Groups in Alerts. if this has changed recently, can somebody chime in? I really would prefer to use Groups for Alerting than Custom properties.
