...or am I showing my age?
With the imminent demise of Google Reader, I'm curious what everyone else is going to use for web-based RSS aggregation. Or is everyone switching to local clients, or living without?
...aaaand discuss!
After trying a few different clients and apps, I have moved to NewsBlur.
I'd love to hear as well. I had my outlook pulling the feeds from here and that broke. spent a little time trying to get working again but didn't end up making it work. This allowed me to see everything without missing. especially great for feature requests.
Just jumping in real quick to make sure the error is within Outlook and not on the thwack side. Let me know?
Thanks,
Danielle
Apparently lots of other people are going that way too. Their free accounts are suspended and you can only get it for $24/year.
As I understand it, the system says free accounts are suspended but the login is created and still works.

Just to add a bit more to the discussion...I asked around the cube farm here and was told the people that are not using newsblur have moved to "the Old Reader".
Part of this question may relate to whether people prefer to read in the web browser, as is the case with Google Reader, or read in an application. I'm actually subscribed to several hundred RSS feeds (and no, I don't actually *read* all of them, but I do scan them). For me that volume is not practical in something like Google Reader. (I used to have Thwack sent to Google Reader, but now I'm only using Reader for a few Google Alerts I still have active.)
For me, I've been exploring RSSBandit for the past couple of months. The good is it has a nice UI, aggregation at both the group level and 'unread items'.. so I can scan in chronological order everything that's arrived in my feed, or I can go focus on a particular area -- like Thwack Forums (what I'm doing at the moment, and how I found this thread). Unfortunately, the tool is not without some complications, and I'm still working through some of the quirks (bugs?). The product hasn't received much attention from the authors recently, but I hold out hope that the impending demise of GR might help them find a way to address some of the issues keeping RSSBandit from being the premier replacement.
I'm curious if anybody has any experiences with other w32app based readers.
i CANNOT recommend feedly.com enough! AMAZING iphone and google chrome apps. i am actually glad google reader died so that i found feedly. feedly with automatically import every feed and category you have once you connect. nothing short of awesomeness! -mark
As I posted over on my blog (Reader and Weep | Adatosystems) I ended up at Feedly. But there were a few interesting stories that came out of all of this.
(yes, I get a lot of my news from Gizmodo)
I used Google Reader for quite a while but after the first news about its end, I've switches to a Firefox add-on called Feed Sidebar. My browser is always open and this is an easy way of aggregating several RSS feeds and be notified when something is new on the same window.
When I started using this add-on, I didn't find (if existed) the Feedly add-on for Firefox so... but it seems a good option and the possibility of using the Cloud and an Android App is appealing.
