Remote Node to Remote Node Connectivity Check

Is there a way to monitor connectivity between nodes that are not Orion pollers? I have a server (call it Server XYZ) in a different IP subnet than my Orion pollers. Server XYZ accesses a remote, third-party data source outside of my data center and the vendor allows XYZ through their firewall. I'd like to have an APM that I can assign to XYZ that pings the TCP IP and port of the third-party. Can this be done?

Supposedly, you could adapt this VB script to accomplish this task. Just make sure to set the exit code accordingly and you should be set.
