Troubleshooting UI slowdowns.

I am trying to become a bit more self sufficient before going to support to speed up resolution on some of my issues so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience troubleshooting UI slowdowns.

This is on a combo APM / SEUM box.

I believe my slow down is due to one or more of three things.

1. Overall group count

2. Number of elements on maps

3. SEUM integration itself with my existing APM services.

Anyone know which logs are pertinent to the above?

As far as symptoms I'm getting time outs or operation failed on map displays, overall slow UI logins and page transistions, and what I believe is higher than normal worker processes in IIS.

update: large maps are returning An unexpected error occured rather than operation failed.

Can you post the specs of what you're running? RAM, # of nodes, CPU, # of polling engines, etc.

I'm about 4x the documented specs on hardware on both the apm box and the db.

I just removed a bunch of map elements and that seems to be helping.

Is there any documented # of max map elements?

Thanks Sean and Bronx both are helpful links but I believe I have this narrowed down to the number of elements on my map.

I see a pretty steady stream of

2011-08-24 13:36:17,360 [33] WARN MapEngine - there is no property with name 'NodeID' in my OrionWeb.log. Trying now to isolate what else logs during these events.

Based on the doc from Sean I am bumping up my own levels of monitoring of my APM and DB box to make sure I'm not bottlenecked someplace.
