Error when moving servers to different Domain in AD?

Hello

We have two AD domains (Domain 1 and Domain 2).

I moved both the main NPM server and SQL server to Domain 2 last night and changed thier hostnames.

I tried to poin the NPM config at the new SQL hostname and got the attached error when trying to load the website afterwards?

I googled this and enabled the named pipes option in the SQL config and I also allowed TCP port 1433 on the SQL servers windows firewall but this didnt help.

I put them back in the old Domain and it worked perfectly again so has something to do with a group policy I think as they are different between the domains.

Any ideas?

Hi,

do you have allowed TCP/IP client protocol for that instance? Btw. in this protocol you have to specify allowed IP addresses for listening.

We didn't change any TCP/IP settings.

I would recommend to check it. Btw. after moving to domain 2 did you run config wizard? Was there any issue in config wizard?

I took over our Orion system from someone who left and there is no documentation so I am having to learn everything.

I ran the config wizard and this flagged up the same error initially but then I opened TCP 1433 on the SQL servers local firewall and the config wizard then ran but the error appeared this time once I tried to load the website.
