Error returned by Tomcat Server Monitor

I am trying to deploy the new Tomcat template on a few of our application servers, most of which use https.

When I test, it returns:

The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.

any ideas?

You usually get that message when you try to access a HTTPS site using the site's IP address. Try changing the URL for the TomCat Component Monitors to use the actual server name rather than the IP Address (or the ${IP} variable).

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried that, and now I am getting:

The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

I know the website is up and the url is correct, as I have existing https monitors for these servers using the same url and port.

Where do I look next?

The next thing to do is to see if you can access the Tomcat server's manager status page. That's the page the Orion APM monitor reads to determine the vital statistics.

Can you open the following page in your web browser: http://yourtomcatserver/manager/status/?XML=true

If yes, can you also open that page on the Orion APM server?
