We currently have over 50 manufacturing facilities that are sprinkled all over the globe. Each manufacturing facility has a internet connection and 2xbonded T1 connections that are used for data connectivity. Only internet based applications go out through the local firewalls to the internet. All other traffic is routed back to our corporate offices via the bonded T1's. We are currently having issues monitoring actual internet connectivity. We are currently pinging the public facing IP's on the firewalls however, this does not tell us if the actual internet connection is down. Is there a software package or remote SNMP network appliance that we can installed at our factories that can be set to verify internet connectivity at these locations? What are other people doing to resolve this problem?
