Where can I find documentation on moving SAM 6 to a new physical server from a VM?
SAM 6.0 is supported on Windows Server 2012 R2, however monitoring of Hyper-V on Windows 2012 R2 is not supported until the release of SAM 6.0.1. Migrating to a new server is a fairly straightforward process that's outlined in detail in the following "Orion Server Migration" document. Essentially you'll reclaim/deactivate your SAM license on your existing Orion server using the License Manager. Next you'll install SAM 6.0 on your new server. When the Configuration Wizard runs, chose the "Advanced" install option. You should then be prompted to provide your database/server information. Ensure you provide the same database server, instance, database, and credentials as your previous installation if you don't plan on also migrating your database to a new server.
