Linux script monitors creating large number of login events

I have a SAM applications with several Linux script monitor components. I have noticed that every time the application polls it creates a login event for EACH component, rather than just one for the application. Is this normal behavior? Is there any way to change this? I am forced to run a manual script periodically to clear these events from the TMP folder on the target server and it is a little annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand what you mean by login events - it has to SSH to the server to run the script, but what do you mean by clearing them from the tmp folder? The scripts that get copied over should be getting cleaned up on their own. Can you show us what the tmp directory looks like before you have to clean it up?

SAM's Linux/Unix script monitors function as you describe, as each individual component can utilize a different set of credentials. We do however have a Linux Agent which is available as part of the SAM 6.3 beta. This Linux agent functions very differently from SAM's agentless polling methods and should not generate the type of events you reference in your original post. I strongly encourage you to sign-up to participate in the SAM 6.3 beta and kick the tires on the Linux agent. We'd love to hear your feedback.
