Can I setup a Alert based on the difference between current poll and previous poll?

Question

We have WiFi access points that we poll registration count and alert us if a AP has zero subscribers. The issue we encounter is if an AP has 1 subscriber and they have a spotty connection, we get alerts all day and night. It would be very handy to be able to reference the previous poll and if the change from previous to current is greater then X, then trigger the alert. We care if the AP has lost GPS sync or is fried and therefore isn't allowing any subscribers.

I noticed you categorized as Universal Device Pollers. When you setup the custom poller in UnDP, simply choose Counter as the data type. This will make it automatically compute the difference between consecutive polls.

This could most likely be done with a Custom SQL alert from the Wireless_AccessPoints_Detail table. But it would be pretty hefty for sure.

Basically, you will have to join the table to itself to get the last 2 values for the specific AP, then return results when X - Y > Z
