SOLAR WINDS ALERTS
strongbrave
SolarWinds send alerts out 2 alerts. One is a WARNING alert, the other is an UP ALERT. These alerts go out within 15 seconds of each other. Is this normal?
What can I do to test the validity of the alert?
Also, can I adjust the alert timing sequence.

Dear strongbrave
If you paid attention to your cousin strongmad you would know that we need a little more info in order to solve this here problem.
1. What version of SW are you running?
2. Are you using the canned alerts or your own creations?
3. What are you alerting on: nodes or interfaces?
It is likely that you have the alert event set to either warning or both warning and down. Warning events can be sketchy depending on your polling settings and the number of elements you are monitoring. I suggest changing the alert to down for the trigger and up for the reset conditions.
Be fantastic.
