Minimum rights

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I have searched on here extensively and scoured the help files to no avail.

- What are the minimum rights required to monitor a remote server (SNMP/WMI/Windows Services)?

- Are there any additional steps required for a domain controller?

The reason I ask is that i'm having some problems with monitoring a domain controller, I don't want to give the solarwinds account full domain administrator permissions. I've followed the steps in www.solarwinds.com/.../APMWMITroubleshooting.pdf however I am faced with the message - "Unexpected error occured. Access denied".

For what it's worth, I found these previous posts by searching for administrator rights in Application Performance Monitor. If you searched using different criteria, please shoot me a quick note with what you used, so that I can consider adding it to the documentation index.

Thanks Roger Wong for pointing out those articles. Unfortunately they are more workarounds than solutions it seems like that's the only option available.

For reference I searched for things like permissions, credentials and domain controller in Application Performance Monitor
