My team has recently started using SAM in order to monitor some azure servers and we are running into issues with the alerts for CPU creating false alerts which is causing alot of pushback.
I currently have an alert to trigger if CPU load is getting then 90 percent for 20 mins, which creates false alerts in my teams mind as the dev ops team only really cares at Percentage CPU used based on the nature of our applications.
In solarwinds I don't see an option to alert on percent CPU just CPU load which while similar from what I understand is a different metric, is it possible to do this and if so how?
My alert trigger alerts there are 2 with the only diffrence being one at 85% and 1 at 90%
What azure was saying in regards to CPU the night of numerous false Alerts:
We had false alerts trigger at 9:51pm, 9:51pm, 11:20pm, and 12:41am which j does not line up with what we saw in the azure portal so I assume that the CPU load metric is not what we are looking to use.
