NTA v3 - Graphs are WAY off

I just upgraded to NTA v3 and the process went very smoothly. It was such a success that we decided to add another netflow source to NTA. This device is a Cisco 3825 running IOS 12.4(12). In the router I have two Internet interfaces running BGP on the router and an internal interface. I configured the router using the Solarwinds Netflow Configurator from the toolset. What I'm seeing for graph data makes no sense. One of my Internet connections which is a 20meg link is showing 1GB of data. Other charts for this device are equally incorrect.

Hi alTeGeGo,

From the attached graphs it certianly looks like there is an issue. Have you opened a ticket for this? If so please reply with the ticket number. I'll have this run to ground.

This might not necessarily be a bug.

So, in NTA 2.2.1, this summary charts were displayed by default with a range of 15 minutes. In NTA 3.0, the range is now by default 2 hours. This change was made due to a survey taken on Thwack.

Anyhow to further explain, data points on the graphs are indicated for each increment in the x-axis of the graph. For a 15 minute range, that is then for every 1 minute. On the 2 hour graph, that is for every 15 minutes. The points on the charts then are for the amount of traffic during that increment. Since the default chart is now 2 hours, you now see on this page by default 15 times the traffic value on the y-axis for every data point. The former lead of this product has a good explanation that might help on this Thwack post.

Also, unfortunately you can’t change this default, it is hardcoded. But once on the summary page, you can change it display other time ranges.

Can we get a screenshot of the NetFlow Sources resource from the NetFlow Summary view which display the actual interface utilization (pbs), so that we can make sure the numbers look good?

Thanks for the explanation. To summarize, the charts are actually displaying an aggregated flow rate over 2 hours as indicated, not a flow as a function of circuit bandwidth.
