I have built an SMTP Monitor and the component status is in an Unknown state. I had deleted and added the component back and it still will not go active. Any ideas as of why this will not go active?

Do you have an error message when you put your cursor on the info box of the component?
Can you telnet your SMTP server on the port 25 from the APM server?
Do you get the 220 Response Code once the connection is established?
Telnet to port 25 to see SMTP Communication
If this is not an SMTP problem, then I advise you to open a support ticket and reply with the diagnostics attached once you received the case number.
