Additional poller question

I am adding SAM and VMAN to our existing NPM system. One of the things we bought was additional polling engine licenses, since our number of elements will greatly increase as we move into server monitoring.

My impression was that I could install polling engines as a standalone application on a new virtual machine, but the documentation about this is sparse.

Can they live on their own standalone systems?

Which license levels do you currently have in production? You can check from Settings - > License Details.

Polling engines can be installed on their own server or can be "stacked"  Not-So-Stupid Poller Tricks

Note there is no additional poler for VMAN, rather it is reffered to as a federated collector
