Is anyone using SAM to monitor Oracle Solaris hardware? I'd like to be able to monitor the hardware the same way I do with our Dell servers, is this even possible?
Are you referring to the Hardware Heath Monitoring feature in SAM?
If possible (which probably not), yes.
SAM does not as yet natively support hardware health monitoring of Sun/Oracle servers in the same way as Dell, HP, and IBM. I did create a feature request for this item so you and rest of the community can vote on this idea. In the meantime if you dig through the devices MIB walk you can monitor the health of those servers using NPM's Universal Device Poller.
