Cisco OTV versus Solarwinds HA

We have 2 sites in 2 different states. We are looking to use Cisco OTV as failover for a DR situation. And I am wanting to know if anyone has had any experience with Cisco OTV and failing over to a 2nd site versus using SolarWinds HA. I don't see a point of having an HA if we can failover with OTV. I know OTV is fairly new and SolarWinds does not know, nor support this at this time. I am not sure if this is possible to use OTV/SolarWinds in this type of situation or not. Wanted to put out a message to see if anyone else has thought about this or has done this.

OTV provides layer 2 extension, so I'm not sure that Solarwinds would know or care which site it was running in or how it came to be there.  In my experience with OTV, your bigger problems are around traffic flow in and out of the OTV domain. In fact, we were unable to solve this issue to a level that made it attractive to put into production, so we abandoned OTV altogether. So if you have those underlying traffic flow issues nailed down, I'd say go with whatever works for you.
