SAM Monitoring - Disk Write Bytes per Second

After we installed SAM and I turned up both exchange servers, we are getting the disk write bytes per second alerts at every polling interval.

Technically I never knew there was a problem occurring until we started using Solar Winds (I'm glad we switched)

However, I am not a huge perf analyzer, so I was wondering where I start looking to see what bottleneck is causing this.

Obviously there is some problem, I just don't know where to start looking.

Both of my exchange servers are reporting this.r

Any help or pointers would be great.

Specifically, what component monitor in which application template is alerting you to an issue?

It is the Disk Write Bytes per Second component in the exchange 2000 and 2003 template.

The warning and critical threshold values for this component monitor may need to be adjusted in the template to best suite your environment. The default warning threshold for this component monitor is 4 Megabytes Per/Second, while the critical threshold level is 5. This seems a little low to me for a decent size Exchange environment running on a SAN. I would recommend doubling these values, or consulting with your storage/SAN administrator for recommended values based on your storage vendors throughput specifications.
