unmanage interfaces (on router)
larry.rice
how would I go about unmanaging interfaces on a cisco device.
I have a RAS Dialshelf and don't want to monitor the individual dial interfaces, but they've already been pulled in to IPM.
Thanks

Unfortunately you cannot unmanage interfaces, only the whole node.
.... although, perhaps if you edit the interfaces table in the DB, you might be able to.
It depends on how the polling engine interprets this. It might be worth a try to see what happens.

Think I got it.
Right click device and select 'List Resources'.
Deselect Interfaces you are not concerned with.
In Map Maker and on MAPs they go away.

One problem with that Larry. You will lose all your stats for the interface

The big side-effect to unselecting the devices is that you lose all of the historical statistical information, unless of course that was the goal all along.

good point. not necessarily the goal, but maybe livable, as they would all be admin ports, and I could use NAM or something for top talkers...but definitely a good point.
